Adrià Cisneros Abril

Euphonium Player

Adrià (1999) commenced his euphonium studies at the age of ten at the music school of his hometown wind band in Vinaròs, under the guidance of tuba teacher Òscar Senén. He then pursued his bachelor studies at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona with Juan Bautista Doménech, thanks to a scholarship provided by the “Ferrer Salat” Foundation.

Following that, he continued his euphonium studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, obtaining a master’s degree with Rodin Rosendahl and Perry Hoogendijk.

Throughout his journey, Adrià has taken lessons with renowned musicians such as Robbert Vos, Steven Mead, Thomas Rüedi, Gary Curtin,
and Rex Martin.

Adrià has received accolades in various competitions, securing the first place in the First Tilburg Euphonium Competition and the second prize in the AETyB Soloist Competition in both 2021 and 2022.

Additionally, he claimed the second prize in the Willibroek competition in 2023.

His experience extends beyond solo performances, as he has collaborated with notable bands including the Royal Navy of the Netherlands, Brass Band Schoonhoven, and the Wind Band from Barcelona.

He has also contributed to chamber groups such as Soinu Lodia and Delirium Quintet, enhancing his musical sensibilities and adapting to
various styles.

Adrià’s interests encompass exploring the euphonium in genres beyond the classical repertoire. This led him to dedicate part of his
master’s degree to exploring the possibilities of electronic repertoire for the euphonium. One of his goals is to expand this repertoire and collaborate with composers to rejuvenate this often overlooked aspect of musical expression.
